Straight from the park's own camera. The Park Service publishes a new picture every few minutes, and this one re-fetches itself about every two while the tab is in front of you — the button is there for when you cannot wait.

From there, the River Trail is open to the Silver Bridge and the South Kaibab Trail junction. The distance from Bright Angel Trailhead to Bright Angel Campground is 9.5 mi (15.3 km), crossing the river at the Silver Bridge.
